Rich is the founder and president of Pinon Development. A westerner, he was born in Montana and grew up in the small town of Black Forest, Colorado. He later attended Colorado State University where he graduated with a degree in Construction Management. After graduating he co-founded a development and construction firm in Dallas/Ft. Worth which grew to have a large custom home building division, Calais Custom Homes, as well as a commercial division which built, owned and leased commercial buildings.
After twenty years of traffic and summer heat, Rich longed to return to Colorado. Salida provided the ideal combination of climate, scenery, recreation and small town values for Rich and his wife Cindy to raise their four children.
Rich is a passionate fly fisherman who enjoys outdoor time with his family, as well as driving vintage Porsche sports cars. He is co-founder and CFO of Pinon Real Estate Group, a Salida based real estate brokerage company. Active in the community, he is a coach for youth sports and is a board member for High Country Bank. He is the past chairman of the Chaffee County Board of Review.
