"Good Neighbors" fleur

On a Friday evening, our project manager, August Delarue, received a call from one of the homeowners saying that he was in a bit of a bind...The homeowner had left his key to his home in Trailside Estates back in Denver and had not hid a key at the residence. Fortunately, when they had moved into their home, August had offered to keep a key for them 'just in case' they needed anything while away. However, August was not in town and at least a 2 hr. drive away.

So, August called Todd Armstrong, our project superintendent, and asked if he could get the key to the homeowner quickly so they didn't have to sleep in a hotel that night. Todd immediately drove over to our model home, where the key was being kept, and delivered it to the homeowners. "Like good neighbors" Todd and August were happy to help these homeowners avoid having to stay at a hotel or even worse, break into their own home!

"Wildlife Managers" fleur

One of the neighborhoods we build in has a drainage area with a small creek flowing through a culvert which provides flood control for the neighborhood. During the summer the creek had been overflowing into the neighborhood’s common area and it was determined that a beaver had been building a dam in the creek. The homeowner’s association contacted the Division of Wildlife in order to solve the problem.

After weeks of unsuccessful attempts to trap the beaver, our project superintendent Todd Armstrong noticed the beaver walking up the sidewalk in the neighborhood. He, along with project manager August Delarue, gently captured the beaver and relocated the beaver several miles away at a local lake thus ensuring the integrity of the neighborhood drainage system.

"Single Digit Temps" fleur

The temperature was in the single digits one January evening when Rich's phone rang. Mr. Curry, who was not a direct customer of ours but had purchased a pre-owned home which we had built, called to say his furnace wasn't working. Rich went through a series of troubleshooting ideas with Mr. Curry over the phone to see if he could get it started. When none of his ideas fixed the problem, Rich called Pinon Development's heating contractor and left a voice-mail on his cell phone to see if he could go by Mr. Curry's house that night. Knowing there was a possibility that the heating contractor might not get the message until the following morning and that the temperature was expected to dip below zero that night, Rich called Mr. Curry and offered the use of his guest house for the night.

Pinon Development's heating contractor did get the message and came by later that evening and fixed the problem at no cost to Mr. Curry.

"Light Fixture Eye-Catcher" fleur

Pinon Development's electrical contractor was installing light fixtures in the Janes family home in Trailside Estates. The Janes' had made most of their selections remotely, and were not able to walk through the house while choosing their light fixtures. On one of his regular walk-throughs, August noticed that the two ceiling light fixtures in the entry hall did not match. He referenced his notes to see if the light fixture selection list that the Janes' had signed was consistent with what was installed...After review, he found that there was in fact no 'slip-up', the lights had been installed exactly as specified.

So August contacted the Janes and asked if they would like to change this configuration. He suggested ordering another light fixture to match the one at the entry of the home. They agreed and thanked August for catching this 'sooner rather than later', especially since they weren't around to walk-through the house regularly.
